A mobile communication terminal and a text message display method therefor are provided to enable a user to more conveniently search a lot of previously transceived messages even though the number of transceived text messages stored in the terminal gradually gets larger while the user can conveniently write new text messages related to the searched text messages. Transmitted or received messages are stored. Lists on at least one portion of the stored messages are displayed in transmission or receiving time order. The lists of the displayed messages are grouped into more than one group based on transmission or receiving information, and grouped lists are displayed. The transmission or receiving information is one of names or telephone numbers of sender/receiver of the messages and transceiving date.
