<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bracket for a handrail in which a handrail grip bar is prevented from being temporarily placed or the grip bar is prevented from inadvertently falling from the bracket for the handrail even if a bolt is removed from the grip bar. <P>SOLUTION: This bracket for the handrail comprises a support member 4 having a first holding part 1, a leg member 5 having a second holding part 2, and the bolt 7 fixedly fastening the support member 4 and the leg member 5 combined with each other. The leg member 5 is fitted into a recessed part 41 formed in the support member 4 to form a support part 3 supporting the grip bar B of the handrail by the first holding part 1 and the second holding part 2.
