PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system and a radio communication method which achieve communication of high reliability between a mobile station and a plurality of base stations. SOLUTION: The mobile station comprises a first reception part, a second reception part, a synthesizing part for synthesizing output signals of both reception parts, a selection part for selecting output signals of both reception parts, and a selection determination part for detecting base station identification signals of the plurality of different base stations from output signals of both reception parts. An antenna of the first reception part is placed in the front of an antenna of the second reception part in a movement direction, and the selection determination part controls selection between outputs of the first reception part and the second reception part in accordance with detecting the same base station identification signal or different base station identification signals from output signals of the first reception part and the second reception part.
