PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a white balance adjustment method whereby a user can correct white balance adjustment even in an automatic white balance mode. SOLUTION: A white balance application circuit 16 of a digital camera 1 uses white balance gainsα,β,γsupplied from a system controller 24 to respectively amplify R, G, B signals for adjusting the white balance. The user uses a user control 26 to correct the result of the white balance adjustment. The user corrects the white balance adjustment by using a cross-cursor wherein B-R is located onto the X axis and G-Mg is arranged onto the Y axis. The system controller 24 stores manipulated amounts (x, y) and the white balance mode (automatic white balance or preset) at the completion of the correction of the white balance adjustment to a memory. The system controller 24 and the white balance application circuit 16 apply automatic correction to the white balance adjustment by using the manipulated amounts stored in the memory in next photographing.
