The mechanical shovel loader (1), in addition to the conventional lifting cylinder (5), arm (3), bucket (2) and bucket tipping cylinder (10), includes an additional tipping cylinder (8) acting on a so-called basket carrier (6). By operating a single hydraulic control lever, two tipping movements take place sequentially. The overall tipping path of the bucket is the sum of the two paths executed (A, B).
