The unit has two connection units (1, 3) between which a pressure unit is clamped, and a differential pressure measuring device (21) is lockable at a pressure connection. A pressure measuring device (31) determines a hydrostatic pressure in a stand pipe (27). An evaluation unit (39) determines characteristics of the pressure unit based on the measured hydrostatic pressure and differential pressure measured with the device (21).
