<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for an air bag device having a door part making cleavage along tearing lines from an interior panel when air bag is inflated and opening out toward inside the cabin and structured so that a frame for reinforcement or a backing member is welded fast to the periphery or the reverse side of the door by a vibratory welding process, in which the frame and/or the backing member is attached fast to the interior panel portion near the tearing lines, and provide the air bag device equipped with the cover. <P>SOLUTION: A door portion 13 surrounded by the tearing lines 11 is provided in the body 7 of an instrument panel. A flange 21 and a flap 25 on the frame 15 are welded by a vibratory welding process through welding ribs 31 to the peripheral part of the door portion 13 and its reverse side among the panel body 7. Branch ribs 32a and 32b thinner than trunk ribs 31A and 31B are extended to the tearing lines 11 from the trunk ribs 31A and 31B stretching to nearest the tearing lines 11 among the welding ribs 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
