<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an object placed on a hood from being dropped off from the hood by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle 20, when it is determined that collision of an object is detected or collision with the object is not avoided, a front part side of the hood 32 is jumped up to the height H<SB>F1</SB>and a space for absorbing impact when the object collides is formed. Thereafter, a space for absorbing the impact when the object is placed on the hood is formed by jumping up a rear part side of the hood. Further, when it is detected by a detection sensor 38 that the object is placed on the hood, a front part side of the hood is largely jumped up to the height H<SB>F2</SB>to incline the hood.
