PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method capable of inexpensively providing evaluated artificial quartz of good quality, by easily finding out the flaws of the artificial quartz in lot units. SOLUTION: In the evaluation method of a quartz crystal, the main surfaces of the quartz crystal that is a target of inspection are held between metal plates and the metal plates are allowed to be electrically continuous to each other, while heating the quartz crystal. Accordingly, the metal ions of the metal plates are doped by the quartz crystal and emit a color. The crystal flaw is evaluated on the basis of the uniformity of this developed color.
