PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide all the concepts effective for the operation methods of machine tools along with all the concepts effective for machine tool devices, in especially electric discharge machines, and their manufacturing arts. SOLUTION: The operation method of the machine tool such as the electric discharge machine includes that at least one of the control, monitor and execution of the machining of workpieces is performed by a plurality of equipment configurable modules (DRIVE; GEN; CONTROL), the modules are disposed in a machine 4 and the modules are connected to a node 5 by a data network 6 for at least either of transmitting data to the node 5 or receiving the data from the node 5.
