PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for machining a platematerial by which the under surface of a planar workpiece can be deburred. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with: workpiece clamps 9A, 9B with which the side part in the Y-direction of a planar workpiece is freely held and fixed; a guide member 135 in the X-axis direction which is supported with a slider 133 which is freely moved and positioned in the Y-axis direction in the downward position of the workpiece; and a secondary machining unit 137 which is supported freely movably in the X-axis direction by the guide member 135 and provided with a secondary machining tool 155 for performing the secondary machining of the under surface of the workpiece. The secondary machining unit 137 is held in both sides in the X-axis direction with a belt table 123 which is freely movable in the X-axis direction integrally with a roller conveyer, a long carriage 59 which in the Y-axis direction is provided freely movably in the X-axis direction in an upward position of the metal plate and a lifting regulating member 167 for preventing the lifting of the workpiece at the secondary machining of the workpiece is provided on the carriage 59.
