PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the closing in a core passage formed at casting time with a simple arrangement, and also to simply constitute this unit at a low cost. SOLUTION: For detecting the closing state of the core passage 3 in a cylinder head 1 formed as a casting by using a sand core 2, a prescribed pressure of the air is blown with an air pouring means 5 from a prescribed opening hole part 4 communicated with the core passage 3, and the air flowing amount flowing out from the other opening hole part 4 communicated with the core passage 3 is measured with a flow meter 6. Then, the closing state of the core passage 3 is detected by comparing this measured value with a standard air amount measured with the core passage 3 having no closing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
