Disclosed is a phosphor satisfying the following conditions (1)-(3). (1) It satisfies the following formula [2] and/or [3]. 85 = {R₄₅₅(125)/R₄₅₅(25)} × 100 = 110 [2] 92 = {R₄₀₅(100)/R₄₀₅(25)} × 100 = 110 [3] In the formula, R₄₅₅(125) represents the emission peak intensity obtained by exciting the phosphor with light having a peak wavelength of 455 nm at 125°C. (2) The emission peak wavelength is within a wavelength range of not less than 570 nm and not more than 680 nm. (3) The half bandwidth of the emission peak is not more than 90 nm. The phosphor has high luminous efficiency and emits orange to red light with high luminance. By using such a phosphor, there can be produced a light-emitting device, illuminating device and image display having high efficiency and high color rendering properties.
