METHOD FOR PRETREATING SPENT CATALYST IN RECOVERING PROCESS OF VALUED METAL FROM SPENT CATALYST

A waste catalyst pretreatment method for adding solvents to waste catalysts, thereby removing oil and regenerating the used waste solvents to obtain high quality aqueous metal oxide salts economically in a method for pretreating the waste catalysts when recovering valuable metals in the form of oxide salts from waste catalysts is provided. A method for pretreating the waste catalyst when extracting oxide salts of valuable metals from a waste catalyst comprises the steps of: (a) removing an oil from the waste catalyst using a solvent; and (b) regenerating the waste catalyst used in the step(a). The step(a) comprises the steps of: (i) charging a waste catalyst containing the oil into an oil cleaning tank(1); (ii) transferring a solvent to the oil cleaning tank by a solvent charging pump(14), and operating a cleaning solvent circulation pump(2) to elute and clean the oil contained in the waste catalyst by circulating the solvent; (iii) transferring a waste solvent in which the oil is mixed with the solvent to a mixed solution storage tank(3); and (iv) volatilizing an organic solvent remained on a surface of the waste catalyst using steam, and evaporating water contained in the waste catalyst using hot air. The step(b) comprises the steps of: (i) transferring the waste solvent to a waste solvent storage tank; (ii) absorbing heat through a heat exchanger(11) and transferring the waste solvent to a solvent regeneration column(5) through a waste solvent heater(10) while transferring the transferred waste solvent through a mixed waste solvent transfer pump(4); (ii) distilling the waste solvent in the solvent regeneration column; (iv) condensing the distilled solvent through a regenerated solvent condenser(13), and storing the regenerated solvent in a regenerated solvent storage tank(6); and (v) transferring the regenerated solvent to the oil cleaning tank, distilling a solvent from the waste solvent, and storing remaining waste oil into a waste oil storage tank(7) by a waste oil transfer pump(8).
