<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated varistor that can cope with miniaturization and low-voltage drive, has less variation of characteristics, and can be provided at low cost, and whose ESD tolerance and reliability at high-temperature loading are effectively improved. <P>SOLUTION: The laminated varistor 1 includes a ceramic workpiece 4 wherein a plurality of internal electrodes 3a and 3b are arranged along a predetermined interface between ceramic layers 2 comprising a semiconductor ceramic material, and an external electrode that is electrically connected to the predetermined internal electrode lead out to both end faces of the ceramic workpiece 4. The ceramic layer 2 uses ZnO as a main component. A subcomponent of the ceramic layer 2 includes: Pr by 0.1-5.0 atom% of the whole; Co by 1.0-5.0 atom%; a total amount of at least one of Al, Ga and In by 0.002 to 0.2 atom%; a total amount of at least one of Ca, Sr and Ba by 0.005 to 0.5 atom%; and Zr by 0.01 to 0.2 atom%.
