<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable fixing structure and method which facilitate and ensure the fixing of an optical cable end when an optical cable with a tension member imbedded in a jacket is connected in a closure or the like, which put no obstacles to the connection of coated optical fibers taken out, and which cause no localized bending of the coated optical fibers in the event of drawing or extruding of the coated optical fibers after installation. <P>SOLUTION: In the fixing structure of an optical cable 11 having a jacket 3 with a tension member 4 imbedded on the outer circumference of a coated optical fiber ribbon 1, the jacket 3 is torn longitudinally to expose the coated optical fiber ribbon 1 inside, and then the optical cable is fixed by bending or folding back the end 3a of the torn jacket together with the tension member 4 to the side of the optical cable 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
