PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber laser device with which pulse waveform shaping is easily and surely conducted. SOLUTION: Pulse compression is conducted by guiding output light from a fiber laser 1 to a phase modulating section 2 so as to impart desired phase modulation thereto; and compensating phase dispersion in the fiber laser 1. The amount of phase modulation to be imparted in the phase modulating section 2 is adjusted by conducting a feedback control by branching the output light in a light branching section 3, evaluating the pulse width with a pulse width evaluating device 3, and guiding to a phase modulation control section 5 to control the phase modulating section 2.
