PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in moldability, and to impart general-purpose properties to a preform in the step of making the preform. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for a molded article for a vehicle exterior, the preform 28 made in a prepressing step is constituted in such a manner that the density of a part 28a corresponding to a bent part 36 of the molded article 38 made in a final pressing step becomes higher than that of the other parts 28b.
