PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of performing image quality correction with higher performance suited for a viewing environment. SOLUTION: In the display device for displaying a video image with an image quality corrected by correcting the image quality of an input signal, an information acquiring unit 1 is designed to acquire environment designating information for designating an environment of a viewer of a displayed video image. A control unit 4 is designed to acquire amount of features of the input video image, and to calculate amount of correction for correcting the image quality of the input video image using the environment designating information acquired by the information acquiring unit 1 and the amount of features acquired by itself. The video image signal processing unit 2 is designed to correct the image quality of the video image to be displayed in response to the amount of correction calculated by the control unit 4.
