PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating type damping material, capable of automatically being processed by using a coating robot, etc., and so as not to generate blister on an electrically deposited coated membrane on being immersed in warm water even by limiting the content of a glycol (divalent alcohol) to begin with propylene glycol. SOLUTION: This water-based coating type damping material using a styrene-butadiene copolymer emulsion as a resin emulsion, and calcium carbonate as an inorganic filler, and making≤2 wt.% any of blending amounts of the glycols is provided with that no blister generation is observed even after its immersion in warm water at 50°C for 168 hr (7 days), for 336 hr (14 days) and even 1,000 hr. Therefore, the water-based coating type damping material has an excellent damping performance and also having a higher rust proof property as compared with that of an electrically deposited coating.
