PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic containing thermal catalyst particles exhibiting thermally catalytic activity, thereby having sufficiently deodorizing effects on body smells including sweat odor, hircismus and foot odor and also safe even if applied to human body. SOLUTION: The cosmetic contains thermal catalyst particles exhibiting thermally catalytic activity. The thermally catalytic activity is such that electrons and positive holes are produced on the surfaces of the particles to induce the redox reaction of body smell components. The thermal catalyst particles consist of a compound oxide composed of (A) a component comprising one or more elements selected from Co, Mo, W, Ni, Fe, V and Li and (B) a component comprising one or more elements selected from Zn, Cd, Pd, Zr, Ti, Nb, Al and Si.
