A method for fitting a pop rivet with attached threaded spacer (26) has the rivet and spacer fitted as one unit into the first mounting (12). The spacer is fitted to the rivet via a left hand thread and has a friction grip (18) onto the threaded fitting shaft which is screwed into the inner thread (22) of the rivet to pull and fix the rivet in position. The fitting shaft is removed without disturbing the adjuster. The adjuster is set to the optimum spacing and the second mounting is secured to the rivet via a threaded fastener. |
