<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for attaining high image quality maintaining initial image quality and high stability in a simple configuration with high maintenability. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device has a development vessel composed of a development chamber and an agitating chamber, a developer carrier rotated while facing an image carrier, a first conveying member set in the inside of the development chamber for agitating/conveying a developer, and a second conveying member provided in the agitating chamber. Furthermore, the image forming apparatus provided with the developing device having a developer supply port for supplying toner and/or a magnetic carrier and a developer discharge port for discharging the developer provided in the agitating chamber is provided with a relaxing means for making bulky density of the developer in the vicinity of the developer discharge port 1.0 g/cc or less in order to relax interaction force of the magnetic carriers in the vicinity of the developer discharge port and a magnetic field generation means in the vicinity of the developer discharge port. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
