PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a conventional outdoor unit of air conditioner, in which since an exclusive fixing member is provided to fix an upper portion of a motor mount base, the number of part items or the part assembling cost or assembling cost is increased, and although assignment of the function of the fixing member to the upper surface of a front cover of the outdoor unit is conceivable, this requires a separate process for boring the upper surface of the front cover, resulting in further increased cost. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit comprises a blowing motor mounting member, a bottom plate for fixing the lower end of the motor mounting member, a side plate provided on the rear side surface of the bottom plate, and a top plate covering the upper edge of the side plate. Since an upper end portion of the motor mounting member is nipped between the upper end portion of the side plate and the top plate and acts as a locking part, the motor mount base can be fixed without any special fixing member, and the number of part items and the assembling man-hour can be reduced.
