PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve collision energy absorption performance of a rear part car body at the time of a rear-end collision, and restrict weight increase of the rear part car body. SOLUTION: In this rear part car body structure for an automobile, a reinforcing member 8 is provided to form a closed cross section disposed on the lower surface side of a floor panel 1, close to an outside part in the car width direction of a spare tire pan 3, and extended forward and rearward in parallel to a rear side frame 7 by cooperation with the floor panel 1. The reinforcing member 8 forms the closed cross section by cooperation with an upper end side curvature part of an outside part in the car width direction in the spare tire pan 3, and the closed cross section is provided roughly at the same height position with the rear side frame 7.
