<p>It is intended to provide a self-tanning cosmetic characterized by containing from 0.2 to 20.0% by mass of dihydroxyacetone and from 0.1 to 10.0% by mass of an inorganic pigment powder prepared by subjecting an inorganic pigment powder, which is surface-coated with silica, further to a hydrophobic treatment. Thus, it becomes possible to provide a self-tanning cosmetic which is free from a color change or the evolution of an offensive odor, has a high storage stability and can establish both of the desired performance immediately after the application owing to the pigment and a long-lasting tanning effect owing to dihydroxyacetone.</p>
