A separating piston (SP) (7) moves axially free inside a space (6) linked to connecting channels (10,11) to seal chambers (8,9) against each other. A first valve (12) acts in a compression stage (CS) as an opening valve without a pressure-limiting (PL) effect or as a PL valve (PLV) and as a return valve (RV) in a drawing stage (DS). A second valve (13) acts as a PLV in a DS and as an RV in a CS.
