<p>The application of solvent containing coating medium on an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst carrier structure (30) with an internal surface by the coating medium containing wash coat dispersion/gas mixture in a vacuum device, in which the vacuum device comprises a vacuum chamber and a suction mechanism (40). The inner surfaces (21, 46) of the vacuum chamber (20) and the suction mechanism are heated on more than 6[deg]C below a dew point of the solvent to reduce the surface drying of the coating medium on the inner surfaces. The application of solvent containing coating medium on an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst carrier structure (30) with an internal surface by the coating medium containing wash coat dispersion/gas mixture in a vacuum device, in which the vacuum device comprises a vacuum chamber and a suction mechanism (40). The inner surfaces (21, 46) of the vacuum chamber (20) and the suction mechanism are heated on more than 6[deg]C below a dew point of the solvent to reduce the surface drying of the coating medium on the inner surfaces. The inner surfaces (21, 46) are formed as a double coat forming element, and a temperature medium is circulated within the double coat element. The coating procedure is operated in continuous manner. The wash coat dispersion contains a sol as a binding agent, an adhesive for the adhesion of metallic particles on the carrier structure, and adhesive metallic particles. The carrier structure is metal foam, a monolith, a honeycomb body or a fleece. The inner surfaces are completely contacted with the wash coat dispersion, and the air is enriched with the solvent before the formation of the wash coat dispersion/gas mixture.</p> |
