A plurality of fasteners (48) secure the division plate (26) within each channel and to the side walls of the mold. The division plate operates in conjunction with an optimized dry cast concrete mixture to provide acceptable control of the flatness and parallelism of the top (86) and bottom(88) surfaces of the blocks(80) .</p>
