The proposed method for diagnosing osteopenic syndrome in patients with bronchial asthma at the initial stage of treating the bronchial asthma by using glucocorticosteroids consists in accomplishing, once a year, ultrasonic densimetry for determining the density of mineral substances in the bone tissues and determining, once a month, the concentration of total calcium and inorganic phosphorus in the blood serum and the content of calcium, phosphorus, and oxiprolin in the 24-hour volume of urine of the patient. If the concentration of total calcium and inorganic phosphorus in the blood serum and the content of calcium, phosphorus, and oxiprolin in the 24-hour volume of urine reduces, osteopenic syndrome or osteoporosis is diagnosed.
