<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation method by a liquid supply type fuel cell in which high output generation to extract a high current density electricity can be carried out with excellent durability, and a liquid supply type fuel cell which is small in size and has a long power generation time. <P>SOLUTION: When power generation is carried out with a current density (=current/electrode projection area) of 0.07 (A/cm<SP>2</SP>) or more by a liquid supply type fuel cell in which a product is generated inside an electrode at the time of power generation wherein a liquid fuel consisting of an active material or a liquid containing active material is supplied to at least one of the electrodes, the power generation is carried out on a condition in which the supply amount X (ml/sec/cm<SP>2</SP>) of the liquid fuel and the extraction current I(A) satisfies a formula 1: 1≤αX/I≤10. In the formula 1, α=(B×F×E)/(W×V), B: electrode projection area (cm<SP>2</SP>), F: Faraday constant (=96484C/mol), E: number of electrons generated for active material 1 mol, W: mol number of the product generated for active material 1 mol, and V: ideal gas mol volume (=22414 ml/mol). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
