<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system excellent in heat dissipation while achieving thinning and a narrow frame. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting system is composed of a light guide plate, a plurality of light sources, and a metal frame. LEDs are used for the plurality of light sources. The metal frame is to house the light guide plate, and a plurality of insertion ports for inserting the plurality of light sources are provided on its end face. The plurality of light sources are inserted into the plurality of insertion ports from the outside.
