PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a recording material, carrying an image, to smoothly enter a nip portion. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a member 14 configured so that the longitudinal central portion on the upstream side in a recording material transport direction X of a nip portion N, perpendicular to the recording material conveying direction is formed to be projected more than both longitudinal end portions thereof, in a direction reverse to the recording material transport direction.
