PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber holder that prevents a single coated optical fiber from separating and loosening from a groove. SOLUTION: Between a wide groove 4 for storing a plurality of large diameter single coated optical fibers 7, for which each single coated optical fiber 9 is overlaid with a coating layer and made thicker, and a narrow groove 5 for storing a plurality of single coated optical fibers side by side, the optical fiber holder 1 is provided a pitch matching groove 6, in which each single coated optical fiber 9 with the coating layer peeled off from the large diameter single coated optical fiber 7 is guided to the narrow groove 5 so as to reduce the inter-fiber pitch. In this optical fiber holder 1, the whole or a part of the narrow groove 5 is made to protrude from the main body 2 in the longitudinal direction of the narrow groove 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
