PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem wherein it is hard to obtain a positive heat dissipation effect just by heat dissipation of a back face part integrated type of conventional technology if a refrigerator is installed with its back face against a wall of a house, in regard to a machine chamber housing a cooling device such as a compressor in a back face upper part of the refrigerator. SOLUTION: The compressor 9 is provided in the machine chamber comprised of a continuously indented recessed part between a top face rear end 5 and a back face upper end 6 of a refrigerator body 1, side wall parts of the refrigerator body positioned in both side faces of the recessed part, and an outer wall member 7 having a substantially L-shaped cross section inscribing the recessed part. A discharge pipe 11 for discharging from a compressor body is communicated with an opening hole 13 of a refrigerator body top face part. By using the refrigerator body top face part wherein the discharge pipe for discharging from the compressor body which will become hot is hardly affected by an installation environment, as a heat sinking plane, heat dissipation efficiency of a refrigerating cycle can be improved without being affected by the installation environment.
