PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain setting for a channel that is detected near a reception limit last time when performing channel scan, as a channel which is capable of reception even if it is not detected in the latest channel scan. SOLUTION: A terrestrial digital broadcasting receiver comprises: a channel scan means 18a which detects a channel whose signal level is equal with or higher than a prescribed first threshold value; and a reception channel setting means 18c which refers to each of signal levels stored in accordance with channels which have not been detected when each of reception channels being set is not detected in the channel scan, and sets a detected channel as a reception channel while maintaining a setting state of the reception channel being set if that signal level is lower than or equal with a second threshold value.
