PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation structure of a building by exhibiting the vibration damping effect while reducing rotational restriction (a pile head fixing degree) by reducing joining of a foundation and a pile. SOLUTION: This foundation structure 1 is constituted so that the foundation 6 of the building is placed via a baseplate 7 on an upper surface of a steel pipe pile or an existing concrete pile 5 driven in the ground 4, and an insertion pipe 8 projected on an under surface of the baseplate 7 is inserted into a hollow part 11 in a pile head part 10 of the steel pipe pile or the existing concrete pile 5 via a shock absorbing material 9, and the baseplate 7 is joined by embedding an anchor bolt 12 of an upper surface in the foundation 6.
