PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knitting socks by which knitting of the socks having a plurality of toe bags can be carried out using only a circular knitting machine and to provide the socks knitted by the method for knitting. SOLUTION: The method for knitting the socks having the plurality of toe bags is carried out by using the circular knitting machine. A wearing hole part, a body part, a heel part and a trunk part in each sock are continuously knitted by using needles in the whole peripheral part or needles in the semi-peripheral part of a cylinder of the circular knitting machine and the toe bags in a desired number are then knitted by reciprocation and rotation of the needles in the semi-peripheral part of the cylinder of the circular knitting machine. The knitting of the toe bags is carried out by knitting the first toe bag located at the end by the reciprocation and rotation with the optional continuous first needle group and the toe bags in the desired number are subsequently knitted by the reciprocation and rotation of the needle groups in which the unused needle groups continuous to the continuous needles in the needle group used just before are added to the continuous needles.
