INHIBITOR OF iNOS PRODUCTION OR CELL MOBILITY, CAUSED BY ACTIVATION OF MACROPHAGE, AND METHOD FOR SCREENING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material or a composition (inhibitor) for inhibiting the production of inducible nitric oxide-synthase (iNOS) or cell mobility, caused by activation of a macrophage; and to provide a method for screening an active ingredient of the inhibitor. SOLUTION: The inhibitor contains a material inhibiting the function manifestation of Slit3 in the activated macrophage as an active ingredient. The screening method comprises the following steps: (a) a step for bringing a test material into contact with the activated macrophage capable of expressing the Slit3; (b) a step for comparing the expression level of a slit3 mRNA or the Slit3 production level in the macrophage with those of a control macrophage not contacting with the test material by measuring the expression level of the slit3 mRNA or the production level of the Slit3; and (c) a step for selecting the test material brought into contact with the macrophage whose expression level of the slit3 mRNA or the Slit3 production level is lowered compared to those of the control macrophage based on the compared result in the (b) as the target material.
