PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a select lever device for a transmission capable of suppressing or preventing generation of rattling/beating sound at turning part of a shift lock member and making a shift lock device including the shift lock member and a drive means compact. SOLUTION: The device has a select lever shifted to respective shift ranges; a shift lock link 3; a bracket for turnably supporting the shift lock link; a solenoid 5 for driving the shift lock link; and a compression spring 4 provided between the shift lock link 3 and the bracket 2 and always abutting the shift lock link and the support member or the shift lock link and the other member by urging them in a turning shaft direction. Since the shift lock link 3 is always abutted, the shift lock link 3 is not rattled and generation of noise such as the rattling/beating sound or the like can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
