PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection apparatus for a metallic material capable of molding a molded part having excellent quality by a simple constitution, and to provide a temperature control method therefor. SOLUTION: In the injection apparatus 11 for a metallic material comprising: a heating cylinder 13 with which successively fed billets B are melted as being fed to the front, and are made into material M in a melted state or a half-melted state; a billet feeding port 14 provided at the rear of the heating cylinder 13; a nozzle 15 fitted to the tip of the heating cylinder 13 and connected to a molding die 12; and a plunger 16 pressing the billets B and injecting the material M in a melted state or a half-melted state from the nozzle 15 to the molding die 12, upon the stop of continuous molding, the increase in the temperature of the billets B stored in a rear zone 31 of the heating cylinder 13 is prevented by a temperature controller 19.
