The injector has a nozzle area (5) connected to a common rail (8), and an axially movable and guided nozzle needle (4) to control blowholes of the nozzle area. An axially movable and guided control piston (15) is movably coupled with the nozzle needle, and has an upper front side (23) in the control area (24). The piston includes a longitudinal channel (34), which connects the nozzle area with the common rail. The piston is operated based on the control pressure prevailing in the control area. The nozzle area is coupled to a coupling area by a throttle (38).
