PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in realizing the concept for reusing a vulcanized rubber after achieving its primary object, caused by the difficulty in dissolving a tire made of a vulcanized rubber containing carbon black to reinforce the rubber molecule and limiting the disposal of the rubber by incineration or discarding as industrial waste.
SOLUTION: The dissolution method for vulcanized rubber comprises the decomposition of the structure formed by the adsorptive reinforcing effect of the carbon particle of carbon black and the rubber and the network structure of the rubber molecule formed by vulcanization by using a fluid material containing a hydrocarbon as a thermal medium and taking advantage of the synergistic effect of the affinity of the hydrocarbon to the rubber molecule and the heating of the system to effect the fluidization of the vulcanized rubber. The above method is carried out by heating middle oil, heavy oil and anthracene oil obtained by the distillation of coal tar, a residual oil left after separating useful components such as naphthalene, anthracene, carbazole, phenol and cresol from the above oils, and a residual oil properly compounded with the residual oil. The finely chopped vulcanized rubber containing carbon black is dissolved by stirring in the heated oil.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
|
