<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covering material which does not hinder the stabilization of a landfill waste at a final disposal field; and a water collecting and draining system provided with the covering material, appropriately collecting and draining rain water, making the rain water penetrate into the waste and promoting the safety and stability of the waste. <P>SOLUTION: This covering material 4 contains a gravel layer 4a consisting of gravel and to be set on the waste layer 3, and a sand layer 4b to be set on the gravel layer 4a and consisting of a sand having an average grain size of within the range of 0.2 mm-0.35 mm; and in the sand, the ratio of sand grain size (D15) obtained from a sieve opening where 15 mass% of the sand passes to sand grain size (D85) obtained from a sieve opening where 85 mass% of the sand passes, is within the range of 1:1-1:3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
