PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature capable of facilitating connection work, while protecting a transition wire for connecting a winding electrically with a commutator against damage, and to provide a DC motor. SOLUTION: The armature 103 comprises an armature core 107 having a plurality of teeth T3 and T7 extending radially, a wire constituted by connecting windings M3 and M7 wound by concentrated winding around respective teeth T3 and T7 of the armature core 107 with a transition wire 110 connecting a plurality of windings, and a commutator 108 having a plurality of segments 1-24 and arranged on one axial end side of the armature core 107. The windings M3 and M7 are connected electrically with the commutator 108 (segments 1-24) on one axial end side of the armature core 107, and the transition wire 110 is arranged on the other axial end side of the armature core 107.
