PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide microcapsules containing a biologically active material which is sensitive to ultraviolet light, and to provide a method for preparing the microcapsules. SOLUTION: The microcapsules contain an organic liquid, wherein the organic liquid contains a biologically active material sensitive to ultraviolet light, and effective amount of a particulate ultraviolet light protectant, which particulate ultraviolet light protectant is selected from titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and mixtures thereof, suspended and thoroughly dispersed in the liquid.
