PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stress sensor of magnetostrictive type utilizing the opposite effect of magnetostriction, provided with a detection part which is compact and easy to operation, low in cost and excellent in robustness. SOLUTION: The stress detection part 1 comprising the plate-like permanent magnet 2, the magnetic sensors 3 and 4 for detecting variation of a magnetic flux generated by the plate-like magnet 2 flowing outside of the magnetic body 8, and the plate-like yoke 5 for enhancing the detection sensitivity of the magnetic sensors 3 and 4 by its magnetic flux collection effect is attached on the magnetostrictive magnetic body 8. The magnetic sensors 3 and 4 are arranged closely to the magnetic body 8 at the neighbor of ends of the plate-like magnet 2 and also the magnetic body side to the yoke 5 arranged at the other side of the magnetic body regarding the plate-like magnet 2 and except the place between the plate-like magnet 2 and the magnetic body 8.
