The device has a locking unit (3) adjusted relative to a door by using a hand operating unit (13) and connected with an impact surface. The locking unit is adjusted from a position that is spaced apart from the surface into another position, in which the locking unit lies against the surface, for non-positive connection of the locking unit and the surface. The locking unit is pressed against the surface in the latter position of the locking unit by a pretensioning device. An independent claim is also included for a door with a locking device.
