NON-FOGGING ARTICLE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A non-fogging article having a hydrophilic coating containing a hydrophilic organic polymer. It retains necessary non-fogging properties and has high wearing resistance and marring resistance. The non-fogging article comprises an inorganic article and, formed on the surface thereof, a hydrophilic coating comprising fine inorganic particles, a carboxylated hydrophilic organic polymer, and a film-reinforcing ingredient. The hydrophilic coating preferably comprises: a primer layer formed on the surface of the inorganic article and having protrusions constituted of the fine inorganic particles; and a hydrophilic coating film formed on the primer layer and comprising the hydrophilic organic polymer and the film-reinforcing ingredient as major ingredients.
