<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high reliability and high luminance of a backlight using a light source constituted of a light emitting element array module. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of light emitting elements are arranged on an oblong substrate along its longitudinal direction and sealed by using a transparent material to form the light emitting element array module 420 for forming a light outputting part. In a light source part 480 of the backlight wherein the light emitting element array module 420 is mounted on a wiring board, two shape deformable reflection surface members are disposed so as to enclose a space between the light outputting part of the light emitting element array module and an incident surface of a light guide plate and the light source part is fixed directly to an outer case which is separate from a frame supporting the light guide plate and has satisfactory thermal conductivity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
